5 Things You Have Total Control Over
If you are anything like us, you like to have a plan. You thrive in an environment where things are guaranteed, and uncertainty can leave you feeling anxious. While we wish the world could abide by our plans, that is simply not the case. We have to learn how to deal with the uncertainty and one way to do that is to switch our focus to the things we can control. Keep reading for 5 Things You Have Total Control Over.
1. The food you eat

Your body is your temple. It is your home forever and you should treat it as such. Don’t give in to the temptation of convenient overly processed foods that leave you feeling bloated, tired, and uncomfortable. Take time out of your day to make sure that you are providing your body with all of the nutrients that it needs, and you will notice a great difference in your energy and attitude. Eat a healthy meal then go kick some a**.
Side note: A little treat never hurt anybody. Indulging in your favorite food is a form of self care that we so stand by.
2. How often you exercise

You know the feeling when you just finished a workout? That I’m-high-off-endorphins-and-can-do-absolutely-anything feeling? Yeah, we live for that. Your body needs exercise, so don’t neglect it when the going gets busy. Only you can make yourself hit up the gym or studio, so make time for it and be happy to do it! Your body will thank you by having more energy to get you through your day making you sharper, happier, and more confident.

You are who you surround yourself with. If the people you choose to be around are toxic, pessimistic, and lazy - chances are you will be too. It is time to take control of your life and kick those people to the curb. You are in no obligation to entertain the people who bring you down. Surround yourself with people that make your heart happy, and the social commitments you make will no longer feel like a chore, but an amazing opportunity to be around people you love.
4. How you react to situations

While there are a lot of things we can control, the truth is that most things are not under our control. Companies go under, stocks drop, relationships end, and heinous things happen every day. While you can't necessarily stop any of these things from happening, you can control how you react to them. You can view one chapter closing as another one opening, and look at every dead end as a chance to try again. We challenge you to find the good in every situation, and if there is none, actually do something to alleviate the bad. We are anything but helpless.
Our mantra is #lookforwardgiveback. We don’t sit and sulk in the aftermath of an awful situation. We look for ways in which we can help those affected. Each of our pieces are tied to a charity that a portion of the sale goes to benefit. Our Tibetan Flag Legging, for example, benefits the victims of the 2015 Nepal Earthquake. We controlled how we reacted to the news of this intense natural disaster, and decided that we had to help. We encourage you to do the same.
5. How nice you are to yourself

Out of the millions of thoughts that run through your head everyday, how many of them are you complimenting or encouraging yourself? If you are like most people, the answer is probably very low or even a big fat zero. We live in a culture where we compare ourselves to others, and while that may encourage us to improve ourselves, it usually just makes us feel crappy and unaccomplished. The reason we bring this up is because you are in total control of how nice you are to yourself. Instead of comparing yourself to everyone you see, think about all of the things that you love about yourself. Don’t waste your brainpower putting yourself down.
The world is crazy, and so many things happen whether we like it or not. Next time you are dwelling over something you have no control over, pull up this blog and focus on one of the five things you do have control over.
