Joriki Charities: Look Forward Give Back
Here at Joriki, we are more than just yoga clothes. Our company has a story, and with every purchase made, we give a portion of sales back to charity. This is where our mantra comes in; Look Forward Give Back. If you want to learn more about our mantra, read more about it here.
Joriki started because our founder, James Langer, was traveling around Southeast Asia and was so moved by all of the regions’ beautiful cultural patterns and textiles. But at the same time, he saw so much impoverishment. He wanted to create a yoga apparel collection with women’s yoga clothes that were inspired by these regions and that also gave back to them.
Since then, we have evolved into a women's yoga apparel company that is much more than just travel inspired yoga apparel that gives back. Now, the world is our oyster. Whatever and whoever inspires us, we create a collection around that person, place, or thing, and then, of course, tie in a charity. Inspiration leads to creation. Creation leads to giving back. Every collection has an associated charity that is tied to the yoga clothes inspiration.
The charities we work with are close to our hearts, and we firmly believe in their messages and give backstories. Let’s learn a little about these nine special charities that we partner with, where we give back a percentage of every sale to their organization.
Kiva is an international nonprofit with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. By lending as little as $25 on Kiva, anyone can help a borrower start or grow a business, go to school, access clean energy, and realize their potential.
When you purchase anything from our Domingo Zapata collection and our first edition Look Forward Give Back Mantra Tees, a portion of sales goes back to Kiva. In these collections, you might recognize our iconic panda prints or our floral prints.
Pencils of Promise is an organization that believes every child should have access to quality education. Pencils of Promise creates schools and global communities around the common goal of education for all. To date, this organization has built dozens of schools in Guatemala, Nicaragua, Ghana, and Laos.

The Sumba Foundation is deeply committed to lessening the consequences of poverty on the island of Sumba, Indonesia. They aim to provide humanitarian aid by fostering village-based projects that impact health, education, water, and income-generation. All of this is done while preserving and respecting the fragile culture and traditions of the Sumbanese people.
Mary Tilson, an amazing and inspiring yogi from Chicago, is the Yoga & Wellness Director of Luxury Sumba Island resort, Nihi Sumba. She actually reached out to us about creating this collection! Mary had found out that we created travel-inspired yoga clothes, and as a result, wanted to collaborate on a collection together that was inspired by Sumba Island, Indonesia and that went back to the community. We teamed up with Mary to create beautiful pieces inspired by designs and patterns from Sumba Island - where a percentage of each sale would go to Sumba Foundation. #lookforwardgiveback #stretchforsumba

Our Embroidered Mantra Tees were specially made in October 2018 to give back to Breast Cancer Research and Awareness. Our white tee with pink embroidery is inspired by all the strong women -supporting the fighters, admiring the survivors, and honoring the taken. We have three color variations - white with pink embroidery, white with black embroidery, and black with white embroidery.

Our Tibetan prayer flag pant features a vibrant, geometric pattern inspired by the sacred artifacts. Tibetan prayer flags are red, blue, yellow, white, and green.
