Our Top 5 Places to Celebrate the 4th of July Weekend in Chicago

 

Whether you live in Chicago or you’re just visiting for the weekend, we couldn’t think of a better place to celebrate the Fourth of July! This favorite American holiday falls on a Thursday this year, giving you a long weekend - so there's no excuse not to be out and about in the best city in the midwest! Whether you're interested in the fireworks and views, the drinks and food, or just having a good time with your friends - we've got five suggestions for you.

 

1. Navy Pier: For the Firework + Activity Lovers

This Chicago iconic area offers an endless array of activities - from riding the centennial Ferris wheel to dining in one of the many restaurants, and most importantly watching the AON 4th of July fireworks over Lake Michigan at 9:30 p.m. Whether you’re with your family or on a romantic date, you’ll be sure to find TONS to do at Navy Pier, and you will have a beautiful view of all the lights in the sky.

No better way to get your 4th of July foodie fix, than by heading to Shore Club Chicago. Not only is the food delicious, but the beach views make it even better! If we had to take a guess, we would say the beach will be packed on this upcoming holiday weekend- so go reserve your spot!

 

3. Skydeck Chicago: For those who Appreciate the Best View

What better way to celebrate July 4th, than by watching fireworks from the highest point in the entire city! There’s a reason so many people visit the Skydeck each year, making it one of the most visited attractions in all of Chicago. There couldn’t be any better time to visit, then when you can watch dozens of different firework shows across the Chicago skyline. Be sure to reserve your tickets in advance and show up early to avoid the crowds!

 

4. London House Rooftop Bar: If you Like a Swanky Venue, Drinks and Views

If you’re looking for somewhere to celebrate with a few drinks this holiday, London House Rooftop is the place for you! This tri-level bar starts on the 21st floor with a sleek inside lounge, a main outside bar one floor up, and a small area with a cupola - the perfect spot for pictures - on floor 23! 5. 4th Of July Fireworks Cruise: For those who want to Switch it up this Year

After spending your day sun-bathing by the pool or laying on the beach, head onto Lake Michigan to finish out your 4th of July night. Wendella offers a two-hour 4th of July fireworks cruise that allows you to take in the Navy Pier fireworks from the water, with a 360-degree view. Be sure to buy your tickets early before they sell out. This sounds like one of the most unique ways to watch fireworks - at least that's what we think!
